Our Preschool Vision and Philosophy is co-constructed with our Preschool and K-6 children and families. It honours the rich cultural heritage of our children and families - bringing together the Eastern, Western and Aboriginal values and heritage of our community.
Our students designed and drew the images in our Vision and Philosophy. Each year, we survey and run focus groups with our Preschool parents and children to review and adapt our Preschool Philosophy.
Our Commitment
Our educators are committed to providing a stimulating, warm and culturally inclusive atmosphere for every child to thrive. We understand that parents want the very best for their children, so we ensure our preschool program enables every child to explore, experiment and connect with each other and the world through our holistic, Early Years Learning Curriculum.
At Seven Hills West Public Preschool, our vision is to grow great human beings every day. To do this, we provide an engaging and nurturing learning environment which fosters our children’s curiosity, confidence and creativity. We value children as competent, capable learners by working in partnership with families and communities to deliver engaging, nurturing and inclusive learning environments that foster children’s interdependence.
Our educators create an atmosphere of warmth and guidance to provide the optimal environment for healthy development. Learning through play builds a sense of agency and independence to support transitions and lifelong learning. Aligning with the Early Years Learning Framework ensures high expectations of every child through open-ended experiences that spark curiosity and fosters child-led exploration.
All educators play a vital role in modelling and scaffolding a child’s natural urge to explore and experiment through a developmentally appropriate and broad curriculum. Through our commitment to Reflective Practice, we ensure that ongoing professional learning and critical reflection supports every child in belonging, becoming and being. Through high expectations and ongoing collaboration and children's voices, modifications are made to meet the needs of each child.
We respectfully acknowledge the Darug People, the traditional owners of the land at which we are located. We honour and recognise the privilege it is for us to meet, learn and grow on Darug land. The children and educators express this as a daily Acknowledgement of Country.
